The Record Company is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its breakout debut album, Give It Back to You, with an expanded reissue that frontman Chris Vos calls both a reflection point and a reminder of how far the band has come.

Originally released in 2016, the album introduced the trio’s blues-infused rock sound to a national audience and ultimately propelled the band onto major stages, including a tour with John Mayer and a performance at Madison Square Garden.

The anniversary edition features a remastered version of the original album, a previously unreleased live concert recording from that era and several tracks that did not make the initial cut. Among them is “Stay Up High,” a song Vos said has already drawn strong streaming response despite sitting unheard for a decade.

“It’s really cool to see a track that’s waited 10 years to hatch get a chance,” Vos said. “It’s like audio snapshots of a time in your life.”

The reissue also revisits fan favorites that surprised the band with their staying power. Vos pointed to “Turn Me Loose,” which was never released as a single but consistently ranks high in streaming numbers, and “Rita Mae Young,” an unconventional track without a traditional chorus that became a Top 5 hit on AAA radio. The album’s lead single, “Off the Ground,” reached No. 1 on AAA radio — a milestone Vos said the band never anticipated while recording.

“We didn’t make that record thinking about radio,” he said. “We just made something honest.”

At the time of the album’s release, the members of The Record Company were in their 30s and had each experienced earlier setbacks in other projects. Vos described the debut as a “gateway” moment — comparable to a graduation — that transformed the band from hopeful musicians into a touring act with a growing national audience.

Looking back, Vos said he would tell his younger self to savor the breakthrough.

“You found your people. Enjoy it,” he said. “Don’t sweat the small stuff.”

While the anniversary edition offers a look back, the band is also preparing to move forward. Vos confirmed that new material is complete and that the group plans to release singles tied to an upcoming tour, with a fifth studio album expected later this year.

“We make real music now just like we did then,” Vos said. “We were honest then, and we’re honest now.”

The expanded Give It Back to You anniversary edition will be available on streaming platforms and physical formats later this month.
