After 26 groundbreaking years, The Bad Plus are saying goodbye — and they’ve just added new dates to their 2026 farewell tour.
Founding bassist Reid Anderson and drummer Dave King, joined by Ben Monder (guitar) and Chris Speed (saxophone), will perform across the U.S. and Canada through late June. Highlights include June 19 at Sony Hall in New York City, June 20–21 at Blues Alley in Washington, D.C., and a final performance June 27 at The Mill in Westport, NY.
In a joint statement, Anderson and King called the decision to end the band “heavy-hearted” but expressed pride in the boundary-pushing body of work they leave behind.
The farewell year will also feature a special project with Craig Taborn and Chris Potter honoring Keith Jarrett’s American Quartet — a continuation of the exploratory spirit that has defined The Bad Plus from the beginning.
