Melanie C releases new single ‘Attitude’ ahead of upcoming album and world tour
Pop icon Melanie C released her latest single, “Attitude,” on Friday, a high-energy dance track that previews her forthcoming ninth studio album, “Sweat.” The release follows the recent announcement of a global concert tour and the singer’s scheduled appearance at the OUTLOUD Music Festival at WeHo Pride this June.
The new single is described by the artist as a celebration of self-assurance and independence. Recorded between London, Stockholm, and Los Angeles, the track builds on the club-ready sound of the upcoming album, which is scheduled for release on May 1 via Virgin Music Group. Melanie C, also known as “Sporty Spice” of the Spice Girls, noted that the record draws inspiration from her early years in the 1990s rave scene.
“’Attitude’ is that rush of adrenaline you get when you decide you’re done playing small,” Melanie C said in a statement. “It’s fearless, it’s playful, it’s a little bit cheeky — but at its heart, it’s about confidence and independence.”
The artist is currently preparing for The Melanie C World Tour, which is set to begin its North American leg in Montreal on Sept. 8. The tour will include stops in major cities such as New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles before moving to the United Kingdom, Europe, Asia, and Australia through November. The live shows are expected to blend her established pop legacy with her recent work as a DJ.
In addition to the tour, Melanie C is confirmed for a live DJ set at the OUTLOUD Music Festival in West Hollywood Park, running June 5–7. She joins a lineup that includes The Pussycat Dolls, JADE, and Ava Max. The singer was also recently featured in Apple Music’s “Music That Moves Me” series, following high-profile television appearances on “Good Morning America” and “The Kelly Clarkson Show.”
