Long-running hit ‘Moulin Rouge!’ adds final weeks to New York engagement

Fans of the international smash “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” will have an additional month to catch the production before it takes its final bow this summer. Producer Carmen Pavlovic of Global Creatures announced the show is extending its stay at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 W 45th St, New York, NY 10036) through August 30, 2026.
Directed by Alex Timbers and featuring a book by John Logan, the production has played to over 12 million audience members across 15 productions worldwide. The Broadway mounting was a key part of the industry’s recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic, being one of the first major shows to lead the reopening of theaters in late 2021.
The upcoming weeks will mark a transition in the cast as the show prepares for its final stretch. Original cast member Eric Anderson will rejoin the company in mid-May, returning to the role of the flamboyant nightclub host Harold Zidler. He arrives just after the departure of Megan Thee Stallion, whose limited run concludes on May 17.
The musical, which premiered in Boston in 2018 before moving to New York, holds a unique place in recent Broadway history as the only show from its season still running. Tickets for the final block of performances are now available through the show’s official website. Click here to purchase tickets.
