Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Dave Matthews Band will release Take Me Back: Live From the Gorge on Feb. 6, capturing a historic 2025 performance at the Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington state.
Recorded during the band’s annual Labor Day weekend run, the live album documents the first and only time Dave Matthews Band has performed its 1998 album Before These Crowded Streets in its entirety in concert. Digital formats will be available Feb. 6, while vinyl and CD pre-orders are underway at the band’s website. ATO Records will release the vinyl edition on May 22.
As the set unfolded on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025, fans gradually realized they were witnessing a singular moment in the band’s history: Before These Crowded Streets, played front to back. Released in 1998 and now certified 4x Platinum, the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and remains one of the band’s most ambitious and celebrated works.
The 95-minute performance opened with a rare set-opening rendition of Bob Dylan’s “All Along the Watchtower,” followed by early hints of what was to come with “You Never Know” and “It Could Happen.” Béla Fleck & the Flecktones made a surprise appearance on “#41,” with Fleck later returning for “The Last Stop” and “Don’t Drink the Water.” The band stretched and reshaped the album’s material throughout the night, including the long-rumored and rarely performed closer “Spoon.” Jake Simpson joined on violin for “Satellite” and “Tripping Billies,” before an encore that concluded with “What Would You Say.”
Dave Matthews Band has headlined the Gorge Amphitheatre 76 times, but the Aug. 30, 2025, performance stands out as one of the most distinctive in its history. Take Me Back preserves that night in full, highlighting the band’s improvisation and renewed exploration of a landmark album.

In addition, the band’s three 2025 Gorge shows from Feb. 13–15 will air for the first time on VOLTA, featuring a Director’s Cut and a multiview option that allows fans to switch between camera angles, focus on individual musicians or follow the crowd’s perspective.
Dave Matthews Band will return to the Gorge Sept. 4–6 as part of its summer U.S. tour. Supporting acts for the weekend include Stephen Wilson Jr. and Infinity Song on Friday, Watchhouse and Jonah Kagen on Saturday, and Jesse Welles and Sierra Hull on Sunday.
The tour kicks off May 8 in The Woodlands, Texas, with scheduled stops across the country, including West Palm Beach, Florida; Noblesville, Indiana; Camden, New Jersey; Gilford, New Hampshire; Saratoga Springs, New York — marking the band’s 50th headline performance at SPAC — and Greenwood Village, Colorado, among others.
