Blues Traveler and Gin Blossoms will return to the road together this summer for a 35-date co-headlining tour, with Spin Doctors joining as special guest.
The tour is set to begin July 6 at the Amphitheater at Las Colonias Park and will travel coast to coast, including stops in Los Angeles and New York City’s SummerStage in Central Park. The run is scheduled to conclude Sept. 19.
The announcement follows the bands’ successful co-headlining tour last summer, which included a joint appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” featuring an on-air mashup that highlighted the chemistry between the groups.
Blues Traveler, known for its Grammy-winning hit “Run-Around,” recently marked 30 years since the song’s release. Gin Blossoms rose to prominence in the 1990s with the quadruple-platinum album New Miserable Experience, featuring the enduring hit “Hey Jealousy.”
Spin Doctors will again join the lineup as they celebrate the 35th anniversary of their multi-platinum debut album Pocket Full of Kryptonite, which includes the Grammy-nominated single “Two Princes.”
Blues Traveler frontman John Popper said the tour reflects long-standing friendships built over years on the road and the strong response from audiences during last summer’s run. Guitarist Chan Kinchla added that the band is looking forward to bringing the show to cities missed on the previous tour.
Members of Gin Blossoms and Spin Doctors also cited the rare nature of repeating the same tour two summers in a row, pointing to strong ticket sales and audience enthusiasm as the driving force behind the return.
Tickets go on sale to the public Friday, Jan. 23, at 10 a.m. local time, with some exceptions. Additional information and tickets are available through the bands’ official websites.
