Multi-platinum indie pop band AJR announced plans to release its first-ever live concert album and to livestream a milestone Hollywood Bowl performance early next year.
The album, AJR: Live From the Hollywood Bowl, will be available on Gold Royalty vinyl and CD. A companion livestream, Somewhere in the Sky Tour: Live From the Hollywood Bowl, will air Saturday, Jan. 3, on Veeps. The concert was captured during the band’s sold-out October performance at the iconic Los Angeles venue.
The Hollywood Bowl show marked AJR’s first appearance at the venue and served as the finale of the band’s Somewhere in the Sky Tour. Filmed under the open sky, the performance showcases AJR’s blend of theatrical production and emotionally driven alt-pop, culminating in an encore featuring the USC Trojan Marching Band.
AJR — brothers Adam, Jack and Ryan Met — have become one of the most successful indie pop acts of the past decade. Since emerging in 2012, the trio has generated billions of streams and earned multiple multi-platinum singles, including the 5x-platinum hit “BANG!” The song marked the group’s first Top 10 entry on the Billboard Hot 100 and reached No. 1 at adult pop radio.
The band’s 2019 album Neotheater debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 and topped both the Top Alternative Albums and Top Rock Albums charts. Their most recent studio album, The Maybe Man, was released in 2023 and followed last summer’s first-ever arena headlining run, The Maybe Man Tour, which played more than 40 sold-out shows and drew more than 500,000 fans nationwide.
Ticket buyers for the Veeps livestream will also have a one-time opportunity to pre-order a limited-edition Gold Royalty LP of AJR: Live From the Hollywood Bowl, available exclusively through the platform.
Earlier this summer, AJR released What No One’s Thinking, a five-song EP written and produced entirely by the band. The project is their most introspective to date and includes the singles “Betty” and “The Big Goodbye.” “The Big Goodbye” has amassed nearly 20 million global streams and has become a breakout fan favorite on TikTok.
Before the livestream release, AJR will appear on two stops of the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour, performing Monday, Dec. 15, in Philadelphia and Tuesday, Dec. 16, in Washington, D.C. Those performances will air as part of a network special on ABC on Dec. 17 and stream the next day on Hulu.
The band is also set to ring in 2026 with a live performance from Las Vegas on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, airing nationwide on New Year’s Eve.
