Trafalgar Releasing and Mercury Studios will release Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning in cinemas worldwide for a limited time starting October 28. Tickets for the concert film go on sale Thursday, September 24, at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time.
The film documents the final live performance of Ozzy Osbourne alongside original Black Sabbath members Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward. Captured at Villa Park stadium in Osbourne’s hometown of Birmingham, the sold-out concert took place 17 days prior to his passing.
The event marked the first time the original members of Black Sabbath performed together in more than 20 years. In addition to the performance footage, the release includes behind-the-scenes material, interviews, and personal reflections from guest musicians.
Hosted by Jason Momoa with Tom Morello serving as musical director, the original concert featured sets and appearances by numerous rock acts, including Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Slayer, Anthrax, and Tool.
Directed for the screen by Ben Wainwright-Pearce with live concert direction by Tim van Someren, the production was engineered for cinematic presentation with Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround sound.
