Atlantic Theater Company has announced the world premiere of The Saviors, a new play by Bubba Weiler, directed by Jack Serio, closing out the company’s 2025–26 season and marking the final production of its 40th anniversary year.

The play will run June 11 through July 19, 2026, at Atlantic Stage 2 (330 W 16th St, New York, NY 10011), with an official opening scheduled for June 28. The limited engagement continues Atlantic’s long-standing commitment to developing bold new American work.

The Saviors follows two altar boys whose relationship is pushed to the brink when a vulnerable stranger enters their church, challenging their faith, identity and sense of self at a moment of profound change. The production reunites Weiler and Serio after the success of their previous collaboration, Well, I’ll Let You Go.

Weiler is an emerging playwright and actor whose recent work has drawn critical attention both onstage and behind the scenes. Serio is an award-winning director known for premiering new plays and reimagining classic material in unconventional spaces.

Atlantic Theater Company, founded in 1985, has produced more than 200 plays and musicals and is known for championing new voices alongside established artists. Its past productions include Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winners as well as numerous Obie and Drama Desk honorees.

Performances will take place Tuesday through Sunday evenings, with matinees on weekends. Tickets go on sale in March 2026, with memberships offering advance access and discounted pricing.
