Six-time Grammy Award winner and 2022 Kennedy Center Honoree Amy Grant is back with a new single that leans into reflection, unity and hope.

Grant released “The 6th of January (Yasgur’s Farm)” today, marking her first new music from an all-original studio album in more than a decade. The song will appear on her upcoming album, due later this year via Thirty Tigers.

Produced by Mac McAnally — a 10-time CMA Award winner and member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame — the track explores themes of healing, shared responsibility and spiritual connection in a fractured world. Rather than offering easy answers, the song asks a quieter, more universal question: Have we lost our way?

Drawing inspiration from the idealism of the Woodstock era and the lessons learned since, Grant frames the song as reflection rather than argument. References to Yasgur’s Farm, Harper’s Ferry and John Lennon anchor the lyrics in moments of cultural reckoning while pointing listeners toward collective understanding.

“We operate in the world around us and sometimes neglect the power of what we have in our choices,” Grant said in a statement. “The song observes life and the unrest many of us feel, while knowing we are shaping the world around us daily. Maybe life and problem solving is more of a ‘we’ than ‘me’ conversation.”

Sonically, the track recalls the introspective style of artists such as Joni Mitchell, pairing a timeless melody with lyrics that encourage listeners to sit with uncertainty and see the world through another’s perspective.

“The 6th of January (Yasgur’s Farm)” is Grant’s first release from her forthcoming studio album, her first collection of all-new material in more than 10 years.

Over a career spanning four decades, Grant has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide and earned six Grammy Awards. A pioneer of contemporary Christian music, she was the first artist in the genre to achieve a platinum record, top the pop charts and perform on the Grammy Awards telecast. Her honors include stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Music City Walk of Fame, induction into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, and recognition as a 2022 Kennedy Center Honoree for lifetime artistic achievement.
