Grammy Award-winning musician Billy Strings has released a new single titled “Mill Town Flood,” accompanied by an official music video. The song serves as the latest release from his upcoming 16-track album, So Much for Goodbyes, which is scheduled to arrive on Aug. 28 through Reprise Records.
Produced alongside T Bone Burnett, the new album reflects a personal period of grief following the death of Strings’ mother, Debra Apostol, who created the original artwork for the record. The project follows his previous single release, “Burn the Other End,” which debuted earlier this summer.
The physical vinyl release of “So Much for Goodbyes” will feature black, wood grain, and sun core color variants manufactured entirely within the United States. Plating and pressing were completed at Paramount Pressing & Plating in Denver, with vinyl cutting handled by Jeff Powell at Take Out Vinyl in Memphis, Tennessee.
In conjunction with the album launch, Strings will host the sold-out, inaugural “Ionia Freak Fair” on Aug. 28 and 29. The festival event will feature performances by Strings, Sierra Hull, Greensky Bluegrass, and additional musical acts.
The artist will also maintain an extensive fall headlining tour with multi-night stops at Ball Arena in Denver and CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore, along with shows at the Kia Forum in Inglewood and Pechanga Arena in San Diego. His recent activity includes six nominations at the 37th Annual IBMA Awards and a performance tapings for the 52nd season of Austin City Limits on PBS.
