
The Cape Playhouse has announced the initial casting lineup for its upcoming 2026 summer season in Dennis, Massachusetts. The theater is entering its centennial year as America’s longest-running continuously operating professional summer theater. The upcoming productions will bring several Broadway veterans and television actors to the stage at the Cape Cod Center for the Arts.
The summer lineup includes a production of Into the Woods, which is directed by Artistic Director Eric Rosen. The cast features Javier Muñoz as The Baker, Nick Adams as Cinderella’s Prince and The Wolf, and Delphi Borich as Cinderella. The production also includes performances by Alex Finke, Christine Toy Johnson, Erik Lochtefeld, Madison Marie Mosley, Joe Serafini, Pearl Sun, and J Savage.
The theater will also stage the musical Hairspray, drawing from the iconic world of John Waters. The production stars Alex Michaels as Edna Turnblad alongside Michael Brian Dunn as Wilbur Turnblad. The cast is supported by Laura Jordan, Kevin B. McGlynn, Keisha Gilles, Kate Marilley, and Ben Jackson Walker.
The 2026 schedule continues with a production of Mean Girls, written by Tina Fey. The North Shore High School characters will be portrayed by Scarlett Diaz as Karen Smith, Caroline Siegrist as Regina George, and Lizzy Tucker as Janis Sarkisian. The cast also features Danielle Kelsey playing multiple adult roles and Jody Reynard appearing as Mr. Duvall.
The summer season closes with the musical comedy The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. The production is directed by Broadway performer and television actor Claybourne Elder. The initial cast announcement for the finale includes Julia Murney as Rona Lisa Peretti, Viveca Chow as Marcy Park, and Matthew Wilkas as Vice Principal Douglas Panch.
The theater is currently presenting Nat Zegree’s Mozart to Pop Chart, which is directed by Kenneth Ferrone and runs through June 20. Full casting and creative teams for the remaining summer productions are scheduled to be announced at a later date.
